John Miller is the Head Coach of Men's Varsity basketball at Blackhawk High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He holds the record for Western Pennsylvania's longest section winning streak with 111 wins in a row, and has over 630 career wins. He has led Blackhawk to Pennsylvania state championships in 1992, 1995, 1996, and 1999. Blackhawk was State Runner-Up in 2000. The team has also won the Western Pennsylvania league (WPIAL) AAA championships in 1986, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1999, 2000, and 2003 under his direction.
Coach Miller's teams have been in the WPIAL championship games for 13 out of the past 17 years. He has coached in several tournaments and all-star games, including the Dapper Dan Roundball Classic (1990, 1995) and the McDonald's All-American Game (1996). In the course of his long and distinguished career, he has coached over 30 Division I players.
In addition to his successes as a team and individual player coach, Coach Miller has lectured at over 350 clinics in Europe and the United States, and is the innovator behind DRILL 4 SKILL. Coach Miller has over 30 years of basketball camp experience. He is a member of the Beaver County Hall of Fame, the Western Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, and Pfeiffer College Hall of Fame.
